How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Carrier Gas Operations provides on-site air separation units producing nitrogen and oxygen gas production with best-in-class safety, reliability, flexibility and total cost of operation to our semiconductor manufacturing customers. Also supplying cost effective high purity bulk gas.

  • Fully support, accurately complete, maintain, and instill corporate Health, Safety and Environmental policies/procedures and relevant documentation at the facility in operating/maintaining responsibility for a safe, efficient, environmentally friendly facility

  • Demonstrate identified skill sets in daily operational duties including the use of sight, sound, smell and touch, as well as reviewing trends and operating data to identify abnormalities

  • Foster open communication amongst all facility personnel in relation to best practices, operational/facility needs, safety issues/concerns, sharing operational knowledge/expertise

  • Perform all work in compliance with standard operating and maintenance procedures; utilize Life Critical Safety Training (LCST) skills for pre-job planning, safe work permit issuance, energy control & isolation, confined space entry work, elevated work, hot work, etc.

  • Ensure contractors, visitors, coworkers and others onsite comply with company safety policies/procedures

  • Facilitate continuous improvement by drafting, reviewing and improving site SOPs and other site-specific documentation

  • Identify potential maintenance needs and create work orders in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)

  • Maintain accurate records and be compliant with record retention policies/procedures Actively pursue own growth/career development through self-initiative practices, working with resources made available as coordinated with site management

  • Acquire knowledge/ability in all plant equipment/systems - high purity nitrogen plants, cryogenic liquid bulk storage tanks, high purity gas delivery systems, compressed dry air compressors & dryers, cooling towers/pumps, etc.

  • Perform operator rounds and readings, water sampling, cryogenic liquid transfers, truck offloads, operations PMs, daily customer reports, etc. Maintain and expect high housekeeping and organizational standards

  • Assist site personnel with maintenance and repairs on equipment and instrumentation as needed Demonstrate ability to follow directions/instructions from site management

  • Display proper attitude and initiative to achieve personal and company objectives

  • Become familiar in reading and interpreting process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), electrical schematics, control drawings, etc.

  • Demonstrate basic understanding of equipment control logic and critical process loops as performed by the control systems

  • Ensure timely completion of all assigned corporate and site-specific training

  • Demonstrate commitment to zero human caused errors and quality events

  • Exhibit some instrumentation and mechanical aptitude Operate forklift and manlift following all safety guidelines

  • Display ability for controlling an emergency situation and coordinating problem solving actions.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED or equivalent 1+ year(s) of related operations experience

  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts on nights and weekends with rotation

  • Good verbal/written communication skills to deal effectively with site personnel and external customers

  • Ability to work in a diverse team environment

  • Ability to self-manage and work with minimal supervision

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks and demonstrate self-motivated attitude

  • Ability to work extended hours/shifts, nights, weekends and holidays to provide coverage as site needs dictate

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders/stairs and work at heights as required

  • Ability to use cell phones and computers

  • Ability to wear all required PPE and use other safety equipment as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in a technical field or equivalent

  • Technical training or experience preferred

  • Prior experience with air separation units and/or compressor/dryer equipment desirable

The pay rate for this position in New York is $27.00
