Business Unit Introduction - [HM or Recruiter to select the correct BU and delete the rest]

Enterprise Technology: This role is part of Enterprise Technology (ET), where we're developing the digital infrastructure needed to build the road to space, with an emphasis on digital capabilities required to advance Blue Origin's mission. Enterprise Technology is the center of excellence for digital technology at Blue Origin, providing oversight and governance to align technology and business strategies.

Engineering and Program Management: This role is part of Enterprise Program Management (EPM), where we provide technical standards, tools, processes, training, and subject matter expertise for product engineering and manufacturing. EPM allows all Blue Origin business units to benefit from commonly used capabilities, hardware, and software and assists business units in identifying, selecting, and training engineers from both inside and outside the organization.

Engines: This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

Corporate: This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams and locations.

Space Systems Development: This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit. SSD develops next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance: This role is part of the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. This team is focused on monitoring and assessing processes that guide Blue Origin's design, manufacturing, and operations, ensuring system safety engineering, environmental health, and safety, product integrity, and continuous improvement processes.

New Shepard: This role is a part of New Shepard, a reusable suborbital rocket system designed to take astronauts and research payloads past the Karman line, the internationally recognized boundary of space. Through operational reusability, New Shepard supports our mission of lowering the cost of access to space.

New Glenn: This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-liftorbital launch vehicle capable ofroutinelycarrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar,and beyond.Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designedfrom the beginningto be human-capable.

Test and Flight Operations: This role is a part of the Test & Flight Operations team, providing centralized support to business units with a focus on the design, build, and maintenance of the ground systems, test, and launch facilities across multiple locations.

Operations: This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and Security. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

Lunar Transportation: This role is part of the Lunar Transportation business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

In-Space Systems: The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers (use as appropriate), you will as part of a hardworking team of diverse Welders, Fabricators, and engineers, you will Fabricate, and Weld flight hardware for various spaceflight system using TIG welding (GTAW) and other processes.You will share the team's impact on all aspects of these operations ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.Mechanical aptitude, the ability to follow detailed technical instructions, and communicate both verbal and written instructions is paramount. In this role, you will collaborate with engineering to implement and refine new manufacturing processes.

This position will report to the Weld Shop Supervisor and directly support our manufacturing integration teams.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter and driven.
  • 10+ years of experience GTAW welding in an aerospace or precision manufacturing production environment.
  • Metallurgical knowledge.
  • Must be able to author/Develop weld schedules that meet AWS D17.1 Class A inspections requirements.
  • Experience in using automated welding equipment.
  • Experience GTAW welding Inconel.
  • Ability to fabricate and use hand tools on an expert level.
  • Must be able to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50lbs.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be able to pass a written math test and a practical Weld Test (1F, 3F, 2G, 3G and 6G).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired:
  • Some technical coursework and/or AA technical degree/equivalent.
  • Leadership experience.
  • Willingness to mentor lower level welders.
  • Green/Black belt 5S certification.
  • Current GTAW certifications in accordance with AWS D17.1.
  • Expert level of confidence in aerospace manufacturing specifications for large complex thick wall tubes, thin wall ducts, and welded assemblies.
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment. (forklift, crane, hoist, man lift, etc.)
  • Work 1st or 2nd shift, as well as weekends and overtime, when necessary.
