The Opportunity

Our Energy Marketing group is growing its capability set to capture and harness both risk and opportunity on behalf of customers throughout Energy value chains, and is currently looking to add an #energyproblemsolver as a Natural Gas Scheduler / Cash Trader supporting the South Region, based in Houston, TX.

Reporting to the Manager, Cash Trading & Gas Scheduling, this position will work with an innovative teamto continuebuilding a business that is backed by TC Energy's highly reputable customer standing and a solid financial base in existing gas operations and execute / manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other similar activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines in the South Region.

What You'll Do

  • Execute and manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other similar activities related to the purchase and sale of natural gas on various natural gas pipelines in the South of the L48 (e.g. TETCO, Transco, TGP, CGT, ANR, HPL)
  • Set up contracts on new pipelines and coordinate with internal groups
  • Apply a thorough understanding of transportation contracts and nominate the movement of natural gas appropriately
  • Track the movement of all physical gas transactions and maintain an internal overview showing the contractual movements of gas, storage changes, and imbalances
  • Track and interpret maintenance and other operational issues to aide in the efficiency of transporting natural gas & monetization of insights
  • Communicate with pipeline representatives as needed and advise the trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions
  • In coordination with the Desk Head, optimize & trade the cash exposure of the region, thereby enhancing the NPV & profitability of the book
  • Assist the trading team regarding the optimal use of transportation and storage assets
  • Communicate daily with customers and the trading team regarding physical positions and the daily movement of natural gas
  • Ensure positions in accounting and internal system balance and reconcile to actual activity

Minimum Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary education in a technical or business discipline
  • 7 years of related experience
  • 2-5 years of natural gas scheduling experience across L48 South Pipes
  • Proven computer skills with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and ETRM Systems (including ENDUR)
  • Proven experience providing advice to commercial, accounting and operations teams

Preferred Qualifications

  • Scheduling experience on pipelines adjoining those of TC Energy in the South
  • Proven ability to simultaneously co-ordinate multiple tasks in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
