Schedule:

Monday-Friday, Saturday may be used for makeup day. Sunday only for unusual situations.

Primary Purpose:

Assemble and erect multiple new tainter gates on dam. Remove old gates, install and remove falsework and scaffolding. Work in a marine environment.

Typical Duties:

• Employs knowledge and skills of welding equipment and processes
• Assemble and attach rigging (i.e., wire rope chokers and slings) to various steel products for heavy lifts by crane
• Safely signal crane operators engaged in hoisting and moving loads
• Inspect rigging to ensure safety and reliability
• Bolt up structural shapes
• Stick weld structural shapes
• Shape material to prescribed measurements using power tools and hand tools
• Assemble gates and falsework using fasteners and verify plumb and square of structure
• Erect framework for structures
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures
• Assists other work crews when no ironworking/welding projects are available

Requirements:

• D1.5 wirefeed certification preferred but not required
• Pass security clearance by providing valid driver's license
• Work within precise standards of accuracy, following oral and written directions, plans and drawings, and have the visual and hearing capability to work safely
• Climb ladders and scaffolds; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at elevation; lift and carry objects weighing up to 100 pounds on occasion
• Work at heights up to 100 feet
• Must work well with others
• Perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the project supervisor
