Position Description
Performs advanced, specialized work to assist in the organization and implementation of various projects and programs. Work is performed under minimal supervision within established policies with latitude for independent judgment. Works on special projects as assigned. May substitute for supervisor during his/her absence.
Major/Essential Functions
Communicate with large group of pediatric medical practice physicians, advance practice providers and nursing staff to coordinate high volume of outgoing referrals for external services with various specialists and therapies. Works within an electronic medical record system to process tasks and is responsible for disseminating incoming faxes related to primary care and specialty care service lines. Send emails daily to Department faculty, advance practice providers and staff reporting to groups physician and nursing coverage. Ensures authorizations are intact for patients to receive care and effectively follows up on tasks being completed.
Required Qualifications
High school plus six years experience in related field. Additional education may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.
