Responsibilities
Assist the Radiologist/Surgeon during various specialized and complex invasive angio and interventional procedures performed in the Interventional Radiology Suite
Organize surgical scrub and circulation duties for total patient care during and after the procedure
Perform specialized radiography and fluoroscopic coverage of interventional and angiographic procedures under the direction of a physician / PA
Explain procedures to patients and addresses concerns. Prep the patient for procedure
Circulate during the procedure and assists in responsibility for patient comfort. Provides supplies necessary for diagnostic and therapeutic invasive procedures
Remove catheters/sheaths and applies direct pressure
Provide necessary report information to physicians, nurse, and other staff members
Order procedures and charges supplies
Perform image acquisition and post processing, provide necessary information concerning procedures and exposure times, place information on PACS in a timely manner
Maintain and calibrates equipment. Report equipment malfunctions appropriately
Monitor, record, and communicate as appropriate utilizing computerized documentation systems
Assist with transporting patients
Orient and mentor new staff members
Follow radiation safety techniques in accordance with recommended radiation safety practices
Qualifications
Current Texas Medical Board - MRT license
Current ARRT (R) License
Current Basic Life Support Certification / CPR -issued by American Heart Association
