Position Overview:

As a Data Migration Specialist in the Nonprofit Relationship Management (NRM) Solutions practice, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and accurate transfer of data from legacy systems to modern platforms, including the iMIS Engagement Management System, Salesforce Nimble AMS, and Salesforce Nonprofit Cloud. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and validate data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and minimizing downtime. Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis: Assess and analyze existing data structures, quality, and compatibility to determine migration requirements and potential risks. Data Mapping: Develop data mapping strategies and document data transformation rules for migrating data between systems. This includes leading data mapping meetings to ensure a final map is approved before proceeding with the next migration phases. Migration Planning: Collaborate with project stakeholders to create comprehensive data migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk mitigation strategies. Data Extraction and Transformation: Execute data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes to migrate data from source systems to target systems. Data Validation: Perform thorough data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data accuracy and completeness post-migration. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve data migration issues and discrepancies and escalate to appropriate teams when necessary. Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of data migration processes, procedures, and outcomes. Performance Optimization: Optimize data migration processes for efficiency and minimal downtime of client data freeze and migration window, specifically at go-live. Collaboration: Work closely with IT teams, data analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Data Migration Specialist or similar role in data management and migration projects; relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tools and methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, SQL, and data modeling.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with data privacy and security best practices.
  • Beneficial to have previous association or nonprofit industry experience.

Compensation Range: $78,600 - $148,500
