As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, Sustaining, you will be responsible for supporting the mechanical design and production development of Shield AI's autonomous UAV products. You will be the interface between engineering and manufacturing, supporting production deployment of new products and maintaining existing product lines. You will lead design for manufacturing, cost reduction, production line optimization, and new vendor qualification efforts for new and existing Shield AI products. You will architect new products, perform the detailed design of complex electro-mechanical assemblies, and will use best in class design and analysis tools. You will collaborate closely with internal and/or external partners to prototype, test and release products to production. You will also ensure product features achieve performance, schedule, and reliability goals.
What you'll do:
  • Analyze designs and drive changes or modifications.
  • Independently research solutions, troubleshoot and resolve complex problems by analyzing product data.
  • Follows standard engineering/test practices.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams including R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality.
  • Provide project leadership to improve existing products and associated manufacturing processes.
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing issues and request.
  • Write test plans and analyze results.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required qualifications:
  • B.S. degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Production, manufacturing, or sustainment engineering experience.
  • SolidWorks and NX experience
  • A demonstrated record of working hard, being a trustworthy teammate, holding yourself and others to high standards, and being kind to others.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Aerospace Experience
  • Familiar with reading/ creating harness drawing
  • Familiar with PCBA manufacturing and coating
  • PDM/PLM software experience

Total package details:
Regular employee positions: Salary within range listed above + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
Temporary employee positions: Hourly within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)
