Description

Job Summary:

The Service Technician troubleshoots and provides service to a variety of alarm products to residential homes and commercial sites. The position must be carried out providing for excellent customer service and driving customer loyalty, quality and overall satisfaction by servicing, programming, configuring, dismantling, reconstructing, converting, and trouble-shooting existing security and site automation solutions. This includes but is not limited to fire, carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.

Essential Functions:

  1. Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment and wiring
  2. Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation
  3. Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs
  4. Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies
  5. Perform extensive programming on alarm and CCTV systems
  6. Mount equipment; test existing equipment
  7. Demonstrate equipment functions and use to customer
  8. Accurately communicate to customers, coordinators and management when required
  9. Communicate with Outside Sales Representatives in a professional manner
  10. Review work orders and accurately implement products and services
  11. Verify customer has a solid understanding of how the product is used for safety
  12. Maintain company vehicle; update truck inventory daily in lieu of work orders, replenish stock when needed, keep vehicle organized and clean
  13. Maintain company issued hand tools in good working order
  14. Follow company Fleet Policy and input hours into Paycom software
  15. Use a variety of computer program and apps to successfully complete installation
  16. Attend training classes as required by State Certification/Licensing functions
  17. Work under general supervision and independently at multiple customer sites daily
  18. Utilize and interpret location maps, blue prints, and schematic drawings

Qualifications

Job Specifications:

  1. Must have a minimum of High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Must possess a minimum of 2 years' experience in low voltage wiring
  3. Demonstrated experience in alarm panel programming and CCTV preferred
  4. Must possess advanced technical knowledge of relevant industry products and services
  5. RAL/Fire license preferred

  1. Must be able to regularly sit, walk, and stand for multiple hours
  2. Must be able to ascend/descend stairs
  3. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl in small spaces
  4. Must be able to use hands repetitively to operate standard office equipment
  5. Must be able to reach with hands and arms lifting up to 80 pounds
  6. Must be able to communicate and exchange information, both in person and by telephone
  7. Must be able to observe and recognize items, both close and distance and demonstrate an ability to adjust focus
