Job Description

ChampionX has an immediate need for a Maintenance Mechanic located in Odessa, TX. This is your opportunity to join a growing company offering a competitive base salary and benefits.

What You Will Do:

  • Work under general direction to perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks
  • Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures
  • Support and promote the site's continuous improvement culture
  • Use hand and power tools to accomplish these tasks
  • Change lubrication fluids and filters in production equipment
  • Replace lighting and ballasts as needed
  • Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals
  • Participate in on-call rotation for the department
  • Develop good working relationships with other departments on the site through professional communication
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area
  • Work in a variety of environments at a chemical plant, mostly outdoors and in all weather conditions
  • Other maintenance related duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 1 year experience in general maintenance work
  • Basic analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, especially around fixed and rotating equipment (pumps, piping, storage tanks, etc)
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and devices
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Emaint, SAP, etc)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Ability to organize daily activities of self and others
