Performs various activities on the production line, ensuring raw material hoppers are filled, molds are supplied & loaded with mud, fabric applied, and boards cut, in a fast-paced continuous environment. Goal is to safely keep the production line running by checking product quality and monitoring the equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Must be able to work safely.
  • Able to comprehend safety and job training instructions.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Needs to be a self-starter, taking the initiative.
  • Willing to change and can adapt to different roles - Flexibility.
  • Must be able to quickly think and react, as issues arise on the continuous production line.
  • Able to multitask.
  • Must be team-oriented, able to communicate and coordinate effectively with peers.
  • Previous forklift experience preferred, but not required.
  • Education - High School Diploma or GED. Able to read and write.
  • Experience - 3 to 6 months, minimum, manufacturing, or production type experience, required.
  • Mathematical Skills - Able to read tape measure and simple math.
  • Computer Skills - Some PC skills helpful, but not required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental rules.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.
  • Utilize equipment Lock Out - Tag Out (LOTO), in support of maintenance.
  • Operate equipment with manual and automated production processes.
  • Willingness to get forklift operator certified.
  • Keep equipment running by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance.
  • Report all machine malfunctions to mechanics or supervisors.
  • Assist mechanics, utilizing hand tools, when required, to keep equipment operational.
  • Meet and/or exceed daily production goals.
  • Strive to keep raw material and product waste to a minimum.
  • Inspect finished products.
  • Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential requirement. This includes, but is not limited to, the ability to work overtime as required, willingness to work different shifts, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.
  • Maintain clean and organized work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the machine operator may be exposed to the following: moving mechanical parts, moving product parts, vibration, moving forklifts, noise levels requiring hearing protection.
  • Exposure to environment; heat and humidity, cold, wet conditions, and outside covered weather conditions.
