Job Description
POSITION SUMMARYU.S. Venture is seeking a Staff Tax Analyst to join our team. The Staff Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring that monthly and quarterly data uploads are done accurately and in a timely manner for compliance periods. This role includes manipulating and reconciling data to comply with legal mandates and statutory regulations, filing returns promptly, reconciling the General Ledger, renewing business licenses, and performing other assigned duties.

This position can be located out of our offices in Appleton, WI or Houston, TX.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assisting the Manager - Indirect Tax-Sales Tax with correct configuration of the OneSource tax engines, thereby ensuring that U.S. Venture and its associated companies meet all legal obligations and statutory regulations related to return filings.
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the OneSource system.
  • Timely and accurately preparing all monthly data uploads for the compliance period.
  • Preparing monthly returns, monthly account reconciliations, making return payments and preparing license applications and renewals.
  • Effectively and promptly managing tax notices
  • Develops and/or maintains standard operating procedures for responsibilities.
  • Understand, adheres, and performs tax internal controls.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or commensurate experience
  • Prior experience with Power BI, OneSource and D365 a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate detailed information in a clear, easy to understand manner.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Suite, including but not limited to: Comfortable with creating and editing spreadsheets, using formulas, creating charts, and managing data. Knowledge of pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and other advanced functions is highly desirable. In addition, experience using Power BI is desired.
  • Effective team player able to work with others in various areas (operations, treasury, finance, etc.)
  • Display strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Has above average attention to detail and high degree of speed/accuracy in data entry
  • Willingness and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong time management skills: ability to prioritize and complete tasks by deadline.
  • Exercises sound judgment and adherence to department policy and procedures
  • Demonstrates process improvement mindset.
