Job Summary: Huitt-Zollars is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Intern for the 2024 summer and with possible continuation into fall semester. This position will involve day-to-day HR tasks and responsibilities including record keeping, policies and procedures understanding and/or assistance, college recruitment assistance and corresponding with potential new hire candidates. This position will work within the Corporate Human Resources department located in Dallas, Texas and is an in-person position. No telecommuting is provided in order to provide proper oversight, mentorship, and training to our successful HR intern team member!

Would prefer a candidate who can start by mid-May 2024. No relocation provided. Local candidates only.

Reports to: Chief People Officer/VP Human Resources

Duties/Responsibilities:

    Organize, scan, box/unbox, file, sort, and/or shred documents our physical HR file room
  • Assist in tasks related to HRIS and ATS transition to Paylocity including transferring over resumes, candidate info, external recruiter data, etc.
  • Review candidate resumes and conduct phone screens as-needed
  • Cleaning up physical and virtual HR files and documents
  • Assist with college recruitment coordination and preparation
  • Help with any other HR-related tasks as directed

Requirements:

  • Current local (North Texas) student studying Human Resources (or equivalent) and seeking a future career in HR
  • Must be available Monday-Friday with a minimum of 40 hours per week during summer months and 20 hours per week during the fall/spring semester
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Extensive knowledge of office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times including moving and organizing files and file boxes
  • The employee must be able to concentrate on details, work under deadline pressures, apply sound logic and judgment, and prioritize tasks and responsibilities

All Summer Interns and Part-Time employees earn 1 hour for every 30 hours worked of Sick Time with a specified maximum accrual and usage requirements as described in our Sick Leave policy
