Job Description

Air Liquide Large Industries provides our customers with industrial gas and energy solutions that are vital to their own industrial production. We own and operate over 2,000 miles of industrial gas pipelines in the U.S. supplying mainly oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen and syngas in large quantities from multiple production sources to major customers in the chemicals, petrochemicals, refining and steel industries. Our pipeline operations and industrial gas production facilities are closely monitored 24/7 within our leading-edge operations control center located in Houston, Texas. Our operations control group monitors over 89,000 data points and assists with product supply and coordination. We are constantly optimizing our supply network to provide high reliability and energy efficiencies allowing Air Liquide to adjust supply needs more quickly and effectively enabling growth to our customers.

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

The mechanical maintenance technician is responsible for carrying out various maintenance activities to ensure that the plant's rotating equipment is performing normally. They install and inspect rotating equipment and carry out preventive maintenance (PMs) to ensure that industrial machines remain operational and reliable. The maintenance technician will also support the maintenance of equipment at our other two sites located in Ingleside,TX and Bishop, TX.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.

  • Installation and/or modification of chemical processing equipment as well as the repair and troubleshooting of auxiliary equipment associated with all chemical processing equipment and other facility equipment.

  • Assist in promoting safety and organization in the maintenance dept.

  • Continues review and updating of Work Instructions

  • Installs, repairs, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance.

  • Recommended preventative maintenance intervals based on repair data using Maximo.

  • Responsible for the execution of the Preventative Maintenance Program and the Monitoring and Measuring Devices Program.

  • Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation.

  • Dismantles machinery and removes/replaces defective parts.

  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

  • Recommended spare parts inventory levels

  • Be able to write Purchase Requisitions for needed parts

  • Be able to perform all component rebuilds and calibrations.

  • Understand and follow the process flow within chemical processing equipment .

  • Understand and perform valid leak checks

  • Follow all work instructions and safety protocol

  • Organize and sort information using available computer software.

  • Successfully complete all assigned training

  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and have the ability to climb ladders.

  • Actively participate in the site's emergency response (ER), safety policies and follow local, state and federal environmental regulations.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in chemical industry or industry related to fluids systems Gas (Pressure) system component theory and operation

  • Fitness for duty, including but not limited to: ability to lift 50 pounds and climb ladders

  • Able to read and construct from a P&ID or Engineering drawing

  • Basic electronic, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical skills

  • General Maintenance skills

  • Experience working with hand tools, power tool and electronic test equipment

  • Tube bending skills

  • Effective communication skills and accurately maintains records

  • Follow company specific safety policies and procedures

  • High standard of integrity and professionalism
