As our Saw Operator, you will be responsible for locating, retrieving, and cutting raw material per order requirements, using appropriate saw machine(s). You will support the lean process to promote cost reductions and maximize profitable growth, provide excellent customer service and quality, and promote continual improvement and safety.

What will you be Accountable for?

  • Maintain equipment, including changing saw blades, adding coolant, and requesting service as needed
  • Verify material specifications meet order requirements using material certifications, and drawings
  • Maintain and improve raw material organization, including labeling material drops, and cycle counting
  • Cut orders in order of due date unless otherwise specified
  • Verify raw material description/traceability before cutting
  • Consume raw material using a hand-held inventory device, or computer
  • Label and separate material by traceability #
  • Recut raw material as needed
  • Assist receiving with incoming raw material being put into the correct location
  • Assist QC with material specification questions/issues
  • Update returned material log, negative consume, label and put away returned material in a timely manner
  • Keep work area, and equipment clean
  • Request PO's, and update log for outside processes as needed
  • Place finished orders in the staging areas

The Saw Operator collaborates across Winchester in a way that leads by example, holds people accountable, and utilizes data to make informed decisions. They work with management, employees, vendors, and customers to have a positive impact on the organization.

  • Support Manufacturing by focusing on monthly revenue with inventory transactions and adjustments
  • Identify and remove any constraints or process slow downs in the saw department to improve efficiency and communicate them to your supervisor
  • Strengthen/build your department resources to align personnel and achieve the best results. (cycle counting, cross training, organization)
  • Collaborate frequently with other departments to ensure priorities for OTD is met, and customer communication is supported
