Mead & Hunt has an exceptional opportunity for a highly motivated construction support engineer to work with our water/wastewater group in Texas. Responsibilities include monitoring construction while documenting and verifying conformance with contract documents and applicable standards; receiving, resolving and responding to field concerns within water/wastewater systems; preparing and processing pay applications and change orders; receiving, reviewing and processing submittals and RFIs; monitoring contractor-provided documents (quality control, materials testing, etc.); preparing field directives; assisting with constructability reviews. This position requires heavy lifting, working outside in a variety of conditions on a regular basis, and ability to perform work independently. Travel to construction sites is an essential function of this position; a valid driver's license is required. The position will support multiple construction projects, several of which have owner-employed personnel serving in daily inspection and resident roles. Extended hours and occasional overnight stays may be required.

Successful candidates will have all of the following a bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering, construction management or related field AND at least four years of relevant work experience.

Ideal candidates will have any/all of the following:

  • Knowledge of construction methods applicable to water/wastewater systems including field experience related to multiple disciplines (earthwork, concrete, piping, coatings, equipment installation and startup)
  • Experience working with differing construction management and documentation needs of multiple owners
  • Experience using safety and construction equipment
  • PE License or EIT Certification
