How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for providing support to the proposal team for mechanical engineering scope development, procurement team for equipment technical specifications and inquiries, and execution team for mechanical engineering technical support and coordination during the execution stage. The role will also work with the internal and third party engineering centers by providing technical reviews of engineering deliverables for project mechanical balance of plant (BoP) static, rotating and packaged equipment.

  • Meet or exceed the company's safety standards.

  • Ensure adherence to Air Liquide and industry standards, in addition to all applicable federal, state and local codes.

  • Work with the Proposal team and coordinate with internal E&C centers and third party engineering companies to establish the design and requirement of the mechanical equipment scope of work.

  • Review of client ITB and provide clarifications / deviations during proposals.

  • Review, provide comments, prepare, and / or approve of Inquiry & Purchase technical specifications, review of vendor drawings for mechanical equipment, coordination with various disciplines such as Process, instrumentation, piping, civil, electrical, vendors and clients.

  • Review, provide comments, and / or approve all vendor mechanical fabrication drawings.

  • Provide E&C representation for the mechanical equipment during manufacturing as necessary.

  • Coordinate with the responsible parties and provide technical support to any issues related to mechanical equipment installation during the execution of the project.

  • Provide technical assistance to maintenance and operating facilities to resolve mechanical or performance issues; including troubleshooting assistance, coordination with vendors and / or coordination with third party engineering companies while adhering to the corporate MOC policy.

Review the technical standards with industry practices to identify cost optimization levers.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Professional member of an Engineering Association in the United States or Canada.

  • 3-5 years experience in an EPC setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge with Mechanical design static and rotating equipment, technical support experience in an Industrial operating environment or in an engineering and construction environment.

  • Experience with Mechanical Equipment related to Air Liquide Technologies, such as: Cryogenic tanks, Cooling towers, Pressure vessels, Pumps, Water treatment Packages, Trim Heaters, Pressure Build Up Coils, Vaporizers.

  • Knowledgeable in Cryogenic Air Separation units, and SMR technologies.

  • Thorough working knowledge of all aspects of mechanical application and design as related to industrial application in accordance with industry standards per the American Society of mechanical Engineers (ASME), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), American Petroleum Institute (API), National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA), Compressed Gas Association (CGA) codes,etc.

  • Ability to interpret and understand PFDs, and P&IDs to verify that the design and installation meet all of the codes, standards, and requirements for the projects.

  • Ability to work with the company estimating, Product, Project and Plant Project groups creating estimates for new facilities and existing.

  • Ability to gather and assemble mechanical equipment costs.
