Direct Care Monitors are responsible for:
- Monitors and observes clients, ensures their safety and well-being, and provides motivational support and guidance to assist them in meeting therapeutic goals.
- Reports client observations and contributes to treatment decisions concerning therapy, discipline, and privileges.
- Monitors clients in medication self-administration, collects urine samples from clients for laboratory screening and administer breathalyzer to clients for detection of alcohol use.
- Supports treatment plans by scheduling and coordinating client transportation, assisting in planning client interactive events, and so forth.
- Provide security for the medical building.
Job Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in corrections, security guard, security officer, home health aide (HHA), direct support professional (DSP), caregiver, or substance abuse counseling is a plus.
- Certified Medical Assistant or Medical Technician Certification preferred.
- Must be able to respectfully interact with substance abuse clients and form a working therapeutic alliance
- Valid driver's license in state of residence and good driving record required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk or move about facilities for up to two hours at a time, to monitor and interact with clients.
- Ability to speak with others in order to exchange information and provide support.
- Ability to proofread and check documents and files for accuracy on a regular basis.
- Ability to respond to telephones and pages, and to hear and detect alarms and unusual noises.
