Position Summary
The Finance Manager - Manufacturing role is an integral position in the financial operations team and provides operational financial support to our Cryogenic businesses. This role is critical to help drive strategic decision making within the businesses based upon the measurement of financial data. This position is tasked to assist the Sr. Finance Director, Operations with building out and providing ongoing financial metrics and data points so that business strategies can be refined and improved.The Operations Controller must also be available to help develop custom reporting and provide fact-based guidance upon request for various business purposes. This position is responsible for maintaining the appropriate financial reporting control environment for inventory valuation, including the review and approval of JEs, account reconciliations and SOX controls.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Develop cost reporting processes for the communication of monthly/quarterly actual results vs budget
Responsible for completeness and accuracy of inventory and cost of goods sold balances for monthly and quarterly internal reporting and quarterly external reporting including ensuring operating effectiveness of required SOX controls
Analyze sales order, purchase order, and work order ERP configurations to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Review and maintain accurate BOM structure costing for the Business Unit
Analyze Labor and Overhead for the business by product group, help develop labor tracking
Establish productivity metrics
Responsible for budgeting and forecasting costs. Work with Operations teams to accurately forecast financial data
Assist in coordination of capital expenditure and capacity planning for operations
Develop cost down tracking for key products
Responsible for Inventory accuracy and working capital KPI development and monitoring for the business.
Drive process changes and install best practices as needed
Develop and grow strong cross-functional relationships to ensure the achievement of department and business objectives through collaboration and communication
Prepare and execute strategies that optimize working capital
Leverage Business Intelligence tools to reduce manual work and automate financial reporting
Provide relevant, accurate, and timely financial information to management for decision making
Oversight of SOX controls and compliance for inventory valuation
Represent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactions
Perform all other duties as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance
CPA/CMA preferred
Public Company Experience Preferred
Seven to ten year of related work experience including experience within manufacturing operations
Experience with SEC Reporting and meeting related deadlines
Proven experience navigating and ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations in a corporate environment
Financial systems ERP experience
Cost Accounting experience
Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
Superior communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task effectively
Ability to role model high standards of professionalism
