Summary

Responsible for performing a variety of restaurant duties, including but not limited to food and beverage orders, short order cooking, and working with a point of sale system. Also responsible for ensuring the restaurant area is clean, sanitary and well maintained.

Salary: $8.57/hr - $10.28/hr + tips

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Greet and welcome guests promptly in a warm and friendly manner. Assist guests while seating.

  • Review order dockets ensuring accurate and timely preparations for order requirements. Ensure all food delivered to guests is prepared satisfactorily and delivered promptly.

  • Mix and serve alcohol, as needed.

  • Bus dirty dishes and glasses, and sanitizing tables after customers finish meals.

  • Record transactions and orders in Point of Sales (POS) systems at the time of order. Perform shift closing on the POS terminal and reconcile cash and credit card settlements.

  • Ensure all restaurant areas are cleaned before closing, clean kitchen, wash dishes, vacuum floor, empty all trash and make sure all tables are clean, and condiments are restocked.

  • Ensure that all tables are immediately cleaned and sanitized, bar and snack area is fully stocked at all times and all condiments are full and readily available for guests.

  • Available to work all shifts including opening and closing restaurant, as required.

  • Conduct daily alcohol and weekly food inventories with Restaurant Manager. Assist with ordering/re-ordering of food, beverages and supplies.

  • Evaluate beverage carts to ensure inventories are accurate.

  • Occasionally will be required to operate a Beverage Cart on the Golf Course.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)

  • No experience required

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

Education/ Experience:

  • 1-3 years experience in Food and Beverage or a similar role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Understanding of bar and liquor related laws, services and policies

  • Basic knowledge of golf tournament and league operations to include a variety of format

  • Basic knowledge of materials, care and use of restaurant tools and equipment used in food preparation, cooking and serving, and food and equipment safety

  • Basic knowledge of restaurant inventory systems including alcohol

  • Basic knowledge of food preparation, proportion, production and presentation

  • Skill in communicating effectively with customers, vendors and employees by oral and written means

  • Ability to address and resolve concerns/issues raised by golf patrons and restaurant customers in a timely manner

  • Ability to operate a variety of restaurant and food preparation equipment including but not limited to flat grill, char broiler, stove, oven, deep fryer, dishwasher, fountain dispenser, steam table and refrigeration equipment

  • Ability to set up, decorate, tear down or adapt restaurant area to accommodate groups or tournaments when necessary

Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid Class C Texas driver's license Food Handler permit required or the ability to obtain within two weeks of employment

  • Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) Server Certificate required or the ability to obtain within two weeks of employment

Physical Requirements / Work Environment

The incumbent works in a restaurant environment with occasional exposure to unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards including exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals.Occasional work and other physical labor such as standing, walking, bending/stooping, kneeling and squatting.Must be able to lift/carry/move, at times, 25-50 pounds.
