PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages all aspects of the chemical operations for multiple areas. Performs typical responsibilities of management such as requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and coaching. Work is reviewed to ensure competency in meeting stated goals and objectives.
  • Must be self-motivated and maintain strong ethics, ability to work with minimum supervision, maintain reliable attendance, and demonstrate flexible and cooperative behavior in the workplace.
  • Understand and implement standard budgeting, forecasting and process practices through technology. Oversee all project controls, schedules, and budgets.
  • Always demonstrates safe and ethical behavior. Maintains regulatory compliance by coordinating closely with the EH&S department. Provide field spot check quality control of chemicals and safety audits. Lead coordination with all other disciplines to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Mentoring and development of chemical technicians. Provide ongoing training and mentoring and lead to promote employee development.
  • Maintain records such as batch treatments, failures, invoices, daily events, etc. Ensure that necessary samples are obtained, lab analyses are conducted, active participant in root cause failure analysis meetings, and visit rigs and tear downs as needed.
  • Develop and maintain excellent team working relationships with production engineers, production foremen, field employees and vendors. Work alongside counterparts to ensure the chemical program performance goals are achieved.
  • Provide innovative atmosphere for both chemical technicians and vendors to operate within, to encourage chemical research and development opportunities.
  • Attending and participating in regularly scheduled chemical meetings to review metrics, share best practices, discuss issues and concerns, and set action items for improvements.
  • Attend production foremen/lease operator meetings to best understand and support field operations. Identification of manpower and equipment needs.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 10 years oilfield experience including 5 years of supervisory experience as a foreman, assistant foreman or equivalent.
  • Detailed knowledge and expertise in a multitude of chemical operations.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
  • Computer skills with working knowledge of Word Office Software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees across the organization.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of economic evaluations and indicators and their effect on the area of responsibility.
  • Needs a good understanding of using SCADA and other technology designed tools and programs.
  • Advanced knowledge of meanings and methods of a given scope of work to develop a single or multiple discipline plan.
  • Advanced knowledge of safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, engineering drawings and other documents.
  • Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
  • 10+ years' experience in the Oil, Gas, & Chemical construction industry, with at least 5+ years in a supervisory role.

COMPENSATION:

Salary is commensurate with experience.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position is primarily an office position where work is normally performed in a climate-controlled environment. Travel to other office and field locations may periodically be required. When field travel occurs, the incumbent may be exposed to conditions of extreme heat/cold, fumes and gases. The noise level is moderate to loud and includes sounds of construction, equipment operations, and trucks and like equipment. Job hazards include working in normal light and heavy construction activities and working around pressured gas, oil, water, electricity, and waste lines and under all weather conditions. May work in areas where H2S is present. Overtime is sometimes required.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate the computer keyboard at moderate to advanced skill level. Work may require frequent pushing, pulling, or carrying 50-to-75-pound objects such as tools, equipment work operations. Work involves standing and walking most of the time but will also involve sitting and driving for extended periods sometimes over rough terrain.
