As an ESO Associate Controller, you will support the MTO Finance Controller in all aspects of the External Supplier Organization. You will analyze internal financial information (e.g., profit loss accounts, financial statements, working capital, costs, prices, expenses, revenues, rates of return, etc.) as well as external economic conditions and their impact on business operations (e.g., inflation, interest rates, exchange rates, etc.) You will use financial modeling to measure and forecast potential impacts of financial transactions and corporate development activities.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Financial analysis of business operations for the purpose of measuring and forecasting future business performance
  • Partner closely with the ESO organization operational leaders to provide overall financial support to Alcon's external supplier organization and contract manufacturers and to help support various ESO projects
  • Partner across multiple Alcon plants that have ESO activities to understand the costs and streamline processes; work directly with Alcon accounting organization and internal trading partners on monthly expense recognition
  • Support of ESO Forward and Reverse supplier relationships including the updating of pricing in coordination with accounting and Alcon pricing teams
  • Perform month-end close activities including performance reporting against budget and forecasting using Alcon financial systems including SAP
  • ESO CAPEX process development and reporting expenditures
  • ESO Inventory oversight and reporting
  • Annual budgeting for ESO including preparation of PPTs for presentation to Executive Leadership
  • Ad hoc analysis and flexible financial support to drive the business and support ESO as a part of overall manufacturing technical operations (MTO)
WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school+15 yrs; Assoc.+11 yrs; M.S.+4 yrs; PhD+3 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 7 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Understanding of manufacturing, cost accounting, and variance analysis
