    Job Description

    The Manufacturing Engineer, Mexico is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to ensure efficient and sustainable production in a greenfield manufacturing site in Mexico.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Safety & Operational Leadership

    • Design facilities for optimal manufacturing efficiency including layout, infrastructure, utilities and construction management
    • Develop and design manufacturing processes, layout, and equipment specifications
    • Partner with Operations and Sourcing to identify and procure the necessary machinery, equipment, and technology required for the manufacturing process
    • Support the execution of a comprehensive project plan outlining key milestone, timelines, and resource requirements
    • Support the implementation of the Cornerstone Production System
    • Work closely with cross functional teams including Safety, Environmental, Quality, Operations, Logistics, and Sourcing to ensure the plant starts on schedule and on budget
    • Partner with the Safety COE to establish and implement safety and environmental controls to maintain industry leading standards
    • Partner with the Quality COE to establish and implement quality assurance systems to maintain industry leading standards
    • Provide training to production teams on new processes, equipment operation, and safety procedures
    • Support the transfer of work from existing facilities as necessary
    • Create and maintain standard work documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures

    People & Culture Leadership

    • Foster a continuous improvement culture
    • Act as a catalyst for aligning teams around core strategies and priorities
    • Serve as a role model and champion for employee engagement and retention efforts
    • Foster a culture, including ways of working and behaviors, which is congruent with our Mission, Values, and Behaviors & Mindsets
    • Identify and implement ways of working that make safety and quality first, lean thinking and employee engagement a way of life
    • Drive business simplification efforts, particularly those manufacturing activities that negatively impact the operations cost structure
    • Project management experience required
    • Experience with greenfield or brownfield operations strongly preferred
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a closely related technical discipline
    • Minimum of 8 years experience in operations
    • Minimum of 2 years experience working in Mexico
    • Experience in the application of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement tools
    • Experience working successfully in a matrixed environment
    • Fluent communicator in both English & Spanish (written and oral)
