Overview

As a Construction Project Manager for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), you will oversee and lead field teams performing inspections and monitor progress on public works, large infrastructure, and design-build projects throughout the Southwest. At CEC, you will play a crucial role in ensuring all construction activities are performed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and industry standards. In a leadership role, you will be expected to manage cost, quality, schedule, risk, and safety for major construction projects. The position will require attention to detail, technical expertise, and commitment to quality for the successful completion of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

    Plan, coordinate, and oversee inspections of construction sites to verify compliance with project plans, specifications, and applicable codes and regulations;
  • Ensure comprehensive and accurate records of construction activities is performed and includes the proper level of detail;
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address any discrepancies or non-compliance issues that arise during construction;
  • Participate in construction meetings and communicate effectively with project stakeholders, providing status updates, reports, and recommendations as needed;
  • Resolve discrepancies between field conditions and design plans and recommend methods of resolving complex problems;
  • Assist with the identification and recruitment of key personnel and mentoring/training the inspection staff to assure professional growth and development;
  • Track and develop new client leads. Work with marketing staff to respond to RFP's and SOQ's;
  • Assure project deliverables meet scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements. Perform technical reviews of shop drawings and other submittals;
  • Follow CEC's Quality Control/Quality Assurance (QA/QC) process for deliverables and ensure review documentation is complete.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field;
  • Minimum 10+ years' experience in construction management of civil engineering projects, preferably large public works or similar infrastructure projects;
  • Registered Professional Engineer and/or CCM certification is a plus.
  • Proven performance in managing multi-million-dollar construction contracts;
  • Ability to manage a multi-disciplined staff of project managers, office engineers, and field inspectors;
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry best practices and familiarity with relevant codes and regulations governing construction projects;
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for clear documentation and interaction with project teams.
