Job Description

We have an Engineering Analyst position within the LCRA's Substation Engineering department. The ideal candidate will have the opportunity to interact with an amazing group of people, both in the office and in the field, and act as the liaison between engineering and internal/external construction. This position utilizes in-depth knowledge of best practices and experience in own discipline to provide and improve services.

You will be trusted to:

The ideal candidate will have the following:
* This role requires excellent communication skills and the ability to disseminate project issues between various stakeholders.
* Thorough familiarity of 138kV and 345kV transmission designs, projects, processes, and equipment.
* Have in-depth experience of transmission design and intermediate technical knowledge of its relation to construction, maintenance, and operations.
* Reads and interprets engineering drawings, construction drawings and other technical information.
* Provides quality assurance and quality control role related to engineering documents and processes.
* Initiates actions needed to resolve discrepancies and correct errors. Assists others with resolving discrepancies related to engineering documents, materials, specifications and equipment.
* Performs field investigations, which may involve various physical activities, to identify and resolve design and/or aesthetic conflicts. Ensures that field changes are in compliance with and conformance to established specifications, requirements and standards.
* Serves as internal and external point of contact for engineering-related information.
Gathers engineering information by traveling independently to various locations, using company supplied vehicle.

You qualify with:

- Eight or more years of experience interpreting technical drawings/documents and performing technical analysis; drafting using computer-aided design software; or performing engineering design, including at least five years of experience performing engineering design or other relevant experience.
- A degree in computer-aided design, engineering technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience.
- Driver's license
