Description

We are currently seeking a talented individual to work as a Water Resources/Drainage Engineer for design in our Phoenix, AZ office. The candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently. The ideal candidate is energetic, enthusiastic and has a can-do attitude. This position also offers opportunities to participate in professional organizations. Essential duties include working with seasoned team members:

  • Preparing engineering plans for the design of stormwater management facilities including storm drain systems, detention/retention facilities, channels, culverts, storm water pump stations and other drainage facilities
  • Preparing hydrologic and hydraulics studies, including Drainage Reports, Bridge Hydraulic Reports & Master Drainage Plans
  • Preparing drainage design calculations and models to support design recommendations
  • Assisting in the preparation of proposals, scope of services and contract cost estimates

Background requirements include:

  • Arizona Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Practice with local municipal design methods, plan preparation, standards and specifications is desirable
  • Experience with hydrologic & hydraulics modeling software: StormCAD, HEC-1, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, SRH-2D and HY-8
  • Experience with OpenRoads, Inroads and earthwork modeling a plus
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience/working knowledge with GIS, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation
  • Proficient using Microsoft programs, (Excel, WORD, etc.)
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of project teams
  • Experience in surface water hydrology & hydraulics in desert southwest is a plus
