As a Production Supervisor – 1st Shift supporting the Manufacturing Production Team, you will be trusted to lead an assembly and/or packaging team of line coordinators, production specialists and operators to manufacture medical devices at Houston, Texas, US.
 

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Manage facilities, equipment and personnel to manufacture sterile pharmaceutical products in a way that aligns with established standards and procedures (e.g., cGMP and SOPs).
  • Provide a safe working environment that aligns with applicable standards, and ensures that associates are working safely. Continuously monitor work areas; identify, resolve, and report safety hazards.
  • Implement and lead all aspects of programs that encourage adherence to company and department HSE standards and priorities.
  • Determine and communicate planning priorities and production schedules, and resolve potentially conflicting areas.
  • Develop team goals that align with department’s and company’s annual objectives. Encourages growth and contributions by team members, meets or exceeds business requirements, quality standards, and cost.
  • Ensure regular communication of Company and Department objectives to all team members.
  • Monitor, analyze, and control variables. Recommend and implement changes, as applicable.
  • Prepare analyses and provide input to Site Management for use in strategy setting.
  • Manage day-to-day production operations and monitor results to ensure alignment with goals.
  • Oversee implementation of systems, policies and procedures to ensure that products and services meet regulatory and quality standards.
  • Monitor processes, identify problems and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor, analyze and recommend/implement improvements to better use labor, raw materials and equipment.
  • Manage significant projects. Critically review operations for ways to improve regulatory compliance, aseptic techniques, product quality and/or productivity. Track, evaluate and report on key indicators, as well as corrective and preventive actions.
  • Create a positive work environment that engages associates and enables strong performance.
  • Manage HR activities such as performance appraisals, training, interviewing, counseling, and staff and resource utilization.
  • Develop organizational capability to identify and resolve operational issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure fair and consistent treatment of all associates, in accordance with company policies & procedures, as well as employment law.
  • Lead by example, encouraging all associates to act in accordance with company values and behaviors.
  • Coordinate with other departments to accomplish objectives. Manage production between different manufacturing.
 

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • 2 Years of Relevant Experience
  • 1 Years of Demonstrated Leadership
  • Work hours: 7/80 Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 4:00am-4:00pm /Monday-Thursday 4:00am- 4:00pm / (Monday-Wednesday and every other Thursday)
