As a Materials Control Truck Driver – Day Shift located at Houston, Texas, US, you will be responsible for utilizing your Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A and performing safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of your journey to ensure road readiness.

In this role, a typical day will include:
  • Following and maintaining loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips.
  • Inspecting trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary.
  • Adhering to traffic safety regulations at all times, reporting unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisor.
  • Assisting in unloading cargo, maintaining product quality.
  • Additional Warehouse Shipping & Receiving responsibilities may include receiving goods and verifying items against the shipment record.
  • Gathering, verifying, and packing items for shipment according to specifications and the applicable transportation method
  • Recording received and shipped items.

What You'll Bring to Alcon:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
 
  • Work hours: Day Shift (8 hours): Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Travel Requirements: 0 - 10% travel
  • Relocation Assistance: No
