Job Title: Central Utility Plant (CUP) Manager (Ft Hood)

Job Summary: EMCOR Government Services is seeking a Central Utility Plant (CUP) Manager at or Fort Hood Carl R Darnall Army Medical Center in Fort Hood, Texas. The CUP Manager will manage Operations and Maintenance (O&M), repair, minor construction, and sustainment contract for a large healthcare government healthcare facilities program. Serve as interface between the customer and the company. Deliver exceptional site leadership, customer service, positive employee engagement, and compliance with applicable local, state, and federal requirements, while meeting safety and quality performance requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primarily responsible for Preventive and Corrective Maintenance work order execution and management for a 24/7/365 large medical complex program.
  • Oversee diverse team of trade leads, in-house staff and subcontractors.
  • Ensure staff and subcontractors adhere to management plans and processes, including safety and quality requirements.
  • Direct scheduling and completion of preventive and corrective maintenance inspection and repair.
  • Coordinate closely with customer Facility Management points of contact in providing formal and weekly performance reports, scheduling services, sharing program status, and making best practice recommendations.
  • Ensure work is completed in compliance with contract requirements, healthcare codes and regulations, budgets, and performance standards.
  • Resolve conflicts, identified deficiencies, and issues following reporting and corrective action requirements.
  • Maintain program documentation and records for The Joint Commission (TJC) requirements, contract deliverables and plans, training, staff certifications and licenses, and permits.
  • Conduct subcontractor training, safety briefings, and quality inspections.
  • Provide subcontractor and vendor management, including performance reviews and necessary follow-up actions.

Qualifications:

  • The Central Utility Plant Manager shall be technically qualified in the field of Healthcare Facilities Maintenance and have seven (7) years' experience managing and supervising facility O&M projects to include five (5) years' experience managing and supervising facility O&M work in a medical facility.
  • The Central Utility Plant Manager experience shall also have five (5) years combined O&M work experience supervising multi-trade maintenance and or construction crews.
  • The Central Utility Plant Manager is desired to have formal training related to the Joint Commission Environment of Care and Life Safety Code standards. Examples: NFPA 101 and 99
  • Experience managing various construction projects is preferred.
  • Experience using DMLSS CMMS is preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills required.
  • Completion of OSHA 30 preferred.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Must have a current driver's license from a local jurisdiction.
  • Hospital experience strongly preferred.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
