Bartlett Cocke General Contractors in Austin, TX is currently seeking a Senior Project Manager to join our Central Texas team! The Senior Project Manager is the primary project lead from pursuit through closeout, overseeing the total preconstruction and construction effort for multiple projects to ensure they are constructed in accordance with design, budget, safety, and schedule.
The Senior Project Manager plans, organizes and participates in staffing key field positions. This role also assists with interface and problem resolution with owners, A/E representatives or subcontractors while ensuring adherence to all company, client and project policies, procedures, standards, etc. This role also oversees the implementation of safety programs and may have to perform additional assignments per executive management’s direction.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:
Maintain favorable Project Team – Establish/maintain good and long-lasting relationships with Owner, Design Team and Subcontractors.
Make sure that all teams are adhering to the BC Safety Program.
Actively solicit new projects with existing clients and look for opportunities with new clients.
Assist the Marketing Department in the preparation of RFQ/RFP proposal responses, RFP pricing, interview presentations and participate in interviews.
Manage and Administer the Owner Contract including all financial aspects of the contract (including profit objectives).
Participate in writing, qualifying, and evaluating subcontracts and purchase orders in a timely manner to meet construction schedule.
Monitor and control construction through administrative direction working with Project Manager and Superintendent to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget.
Working with Project Manager and Superintendent, investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
Participate in bid days with our estimating teams.
Manage the preconstruction efforts for new projects. Ensures that the contractual requirements as well as the BC standards for preconstruction are met.
Working with the Project Manager and Superintendent, establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
Coaching, mentoring, and developing a diverse team and ensuring Bartlett Cocke General Contractors is creating growth opportunities to achieve both individual and corporate goals and objectives.
Recommend self-improvement programs that may assist employees in their professional and personal development.
Actively identifies and recruits new PM’s, APM’s and Supt’s. Collaborates with Regional VP and Talent Acquisition department to mentor and develop future leaders to ensure continuity of skilled and qualified team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Science, Engineering or any applicable degree program required.
Ten (10) years of project management experience on construction projects required.
Previous project management experience managing projects from cradle to grave.
Experience working with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and able to operate a computer.
Strong planning and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience using CMIC & Asta Powerproject scheduling software preferred, but not required.
Valid Texas Driver's license and meet company's auto insurability requirements.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Works well without close supervision.
