Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO

The role of the Talent Acquisition Lead (TAL) is to lead the Los Angeles office recruiting team and to drive the full spectrum of the global recruiting efforts supported out of Los Angeles. You will be responsible for fulfilling the consulting staff people needs of the Los Angeles office, including candidate pipeline development, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and converting candidates. You will work with the Los Angeles Recruiting Managing Director and Partner (RMDP), Los Angeles Recruiting Directors (RDs), recruiting directors at BCG core schools, and regional recruiting teams to lead and execute the annual recruiting pipeline across OneBCG, entry-level core business consulting (Associates and Consultants) from both campus and experienced hire pools, as well as support Experienced Hire, Digital, and Analytics recruiting efforts for the Los Angeles office.

Specifically, the TAL teams with Los Angeles office and regional leadership to develop the overall recruiting strategy for the Los Angeles office. You are primarily responsible for the implementation of this strategy, in partnership with the West Coast Talent Acquisition Manager (TAM), the Los Angeles Recruiting Directors (RDs), and the management of day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles recruiting department. To the extent that the recruiting organizational structure and processes require change to ensure that these needs are met, the Talent Acquisition Lead will suggest and implement those changes.


YOU'RE GOOD AT
  • Support Los Angeles office recruiting strategy development (jointly with OL, TAM, RMDP, RDs)
  • Oversee office-specific recruiting efforts in support of annual Los Angeles office Consultant and Associate hiring targets:
    • Candidate pipeline development
    • [In coordination with rest of global recruiting team] Sourcing, screening, interviewing, and converting candidates from managed schools/programs and formal channels (e.g., online applications, referrals), and candidates from "alternate" / industry / digital sources
    • Decision-round interviewing
    • Offeree conversion
  • Manage experienced hire recruiting efforts for Los Angeles office in close coordination with region (by working with executive recruiters, Practice Area recruiting team, and other offices to fill Los Angeles-office Project Leader, Principal, and Expert positions)
  • Responsible for developing processes and driving change for new initiatives (e.g., short lead time recruiting, ADC recruiting, going deeper at core schools, strengthen presence at local schools, GAMMA/digital recruiting)
  • Manage the Los Angeles office recruiting team: lead and develop the Los Angeles Talent Acquisition Senior Specialist (currently scoped as one direct report)
  • On-board and team with Los Angeles RDs to develop, execute, and evaluate season-specific candidate strategies; specific efforts include:
    • Specialist training and engagement
    • School-specific candidate targeting activities
    • Candidate coaching and feedback, relationship support
    • Decision-round candidate selection
    • [With RP, OL] Final candidate offer decisions
    • Conversion strategy and Offeree Lead coordination, tracking
    • Offeree weekend strategies and execution
  • Manage Los Angeles recruiting cadre training, commitment, and performance tracking processes (select and train interviewers, staff NAMR events and interviews with the right mix of consulting staff, ensure commitments are upheld, manage swap process, etc.)
  • Manage Los Angeles Associate and Consultant summer internship programs, including coordination and execution of orientation, training, case staffing, performance evaluation, and affiliation events
  • Manage annual budget for Los Angeles office recruiting and internship activities
  • Ensure recruiting records, global database, and metrics are up to date and accurate
  • Collect and analyze information and data to evaluate the effectiveness of recruiting efforts, utilizing the regional analytics team as necessary
  • Help drive continuous improvement efforts in Los Angeles office recruiting; Work with other offices in the West Coast system to improve recruiting efforts and identify synergies across the system
  • Build network and liaise with peers in other offices as well as regional recruiting to ensure alignment on all initiatives; Actively participate in the Office Leads team meetings and joint work
  • Help create recruiting content for monthly Los Angeles Officer/Principal meetings, Los Angeles staff meetings, and other relevant forums
  • Support broader Los Angeles office Business Services Team (BST) management efforts; be a leader in the office
  • Meet and coordinate with other BST leadership in the office (e.g., working with the Finance manager on capacity planning and management)
  • Lead and execute strategic projects as needed

YOU BRING (EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS)
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required, MBA or other graduate degree strongly preferred
  • 6 or more years of previous recruiting experience, with at least some of those focused on campus recruiting specifically. Prior professional services or consulting recruiting experience is a plus
  • Supervisory/management experience required
  • Experience working successfully within a complex matrix structured organization
  • Flexibility and some travel required, particularly around peak recruiting season and planning weeks; Attendance at key evening and weekend events required
  • Strong organizational skills with strong attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Ability to set priorities, plan workflow and take initiative
  • Analytical proficiency; facility with numbers
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and work well under pressure
  • Ability to understand and manage complex reporting relationships and incorporate multiple labor laws and cultures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; Positive personal and professional image, high standards of professional behavior and ethics
  • Demonstrated leadership ability; works well as team player
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively persuade, influence, and negotiate
  • Comfortable in resolving conflict and people related issues
  • Ability to perform successfully in a fast-paced, intellectually intense, service- oriented environment and to interpret rules and guidelines flexibly to enhance the business and in keeping with BCG's values and culture
  • Exceptional PowerPoint and Excel skills; general computer proficiency

YOU'LL WORK WITH

You'll be working with a closely knit team of other Talent Acquisition members in Los Angeles and in the other West Coast offices. You will report directly to the West Coast Talent Acquisition Manager but also work closely with the Los Angeles Office Coordinator (OC), Los Angeles Office Administrator (OL), Los Angeles Recruiting Managing Director and Partner (RMDP), Los Angeles RDs, and regional Talent Acquisition teams and leadership across North America.
