Community Outreach to State Workforce Agencies

The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is the state government agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. For employers, TWC offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services as well as valuable information on labor law and labor market statistics. For job seekers, TWC offers career development information, job search resources, training programs, and, as appropriate, unemployment benefits.

Workforce Solutions Upper Rio Grande is one of 28 workforce development boards in Texas. It is our job to enhance the quality of life in our region by focusing on initiatives that develop opportunities in education, employment and economic development. We oversee programs. We create partnerships. We invest in people. Vision: A strong network of community partnerships that makes our customers competitive in the global marketplace. Mission: The Upper Rio Grande Workforce System provides skilled workers for employers and job opportunities for workers.

The Louisiana Work Incentive Planning and Assistance Project LAWIPA, is one of two SSA funded Work Incentive Planning and Assistance grants awarded to organizations in Louisiana. Career Solution Centers offer a vast array of resources and services such as training, resume development, and job search assistance.

North Central Texas WorkForce has been providing workforce solutions to over 1.8 million employers and jobseekers in the North Central Texas region since 1996. Our primary goal is to help employers find the right employees to meet their business needs. With 15 workforce centers to serve you as well as on-line assistance, we can find the right solution for you.

The WorkSource is a public/private partnership providing a comprehensive human resource service for businesses and residents of the 13-county Houston-Galveston Gulf Coast region. The WorkSource helps employers solve workforce-related business problems and area residents build careers, so that both can better compete in the changing worldwide economy. We operate 35 community-based career offices to help residents get a job, keep a job or get a better job – offering placement, career counseling and financial aid services.

Workforce Solutions for North Central Texas provides leadership to our extensive network of Workforce Centers and service providers who are dedicated to assisting employers in finding the right employee. Our service area includes Collin, Denton, Ellis, Erath, Hood, Hunt, Johnson, Kaufman, Navarro, Palo Pinto, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, and Wise counties. This area is home to over 2.3 million residents, 47,000 businesses and over 1.2 million workers.

WorkSource administers a broad range of programs to address local workforce issues with business-directed objectives, including job training, workplace education, child care and educational initiatives to provide the necessary support for every citizen of Dallas County to be successful at work.
