The Custodian maintains a clean building and grounds clean and performs cleaning duties for the company. The Custodian uses cleaning chemicals to maintain equipment and other supplies while dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning restrooms. Depending on location, this position may also tend to landscape.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning according to instructions.
  • Regularly checks supply levels and replenishes as needed (such as toilet paper, towels, soap, chemicals, and disinfectants).
  • Operate cleaning equipment to maintain a clean office and shop restrooms and dressing rooms including degreasing floors as needed.
  • Performs routine cleaning duties such as dusting furniture, mopping, scrubbing, sanitizing, vacuuming floors, steam cleaning carpets, and maintaining clean restroom facilities.
  • Empty and dispose trash in dumpsters and or compactors in a safe and clean manner.
  • Clean trash around property including the cutting, trimming, and leaf blowing of landscape of property, this varies by location of position.
  • Notifies supervisor regarding repairs on cleaning equipment and cleaning supply inventory levels.
  • Other duties as required by supervisor.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
  • Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to interpret material safety data sheet and apply basic math skills to mix chemical ingredients.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, both verbally and in written format.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Required travel up to 5%.

This position is considered a safety sensitive position.
