YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

  • Surface Preparation: Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying appropriate primers or sealants to ensure proper adhesion of coatings.
  • Apply industrial paints such epoxy, polyurethane, acrylic urethane, carc, or powder coat using various techniques such as spray, or electrostatic methods.
  • Mix paints to achieve desired colors and consistencies, ensuring accurate color matching according to specifications.
  • Maintain and clean painting equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure proper functionality and prevent contamination of coatings.
  • Inspect painted surfaces for flaws, imperfections, or inconsistencies, and perform necessary touch-ups or rework as required.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of chemicals and materials.
  • Maintain accurate records of paint and coating usage, surface preparation processes, and completed projects.
  • Work closely with team members, supervisors, and project managers to ensure efficient workflow and project completion.
  • Follow project specifications and timelines, ensuring tasks are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations related to paint and coating application, disposal of waste, and proper ventilation.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new techniques, and emerging technologies to enhance painting processes and deliver better results.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical or vocational training in painting or related field is a plus.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an industrial painter in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of different painting techniques, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
  • Familiarity with various paint sprayers, such as HVLP (high-volume, low-pressure), electrostatic, and pressure pot/cup gun.
  • Ability to accurately mix and match paints to achieve desired colors and textures.
  • Clear understanding of ratios down to ounces.
  • Clear knowledge of dry booth painting.
  • Clear knowledge and understanding of paint specifications for required finishes.
  • Ability to understand drawings, work orders, and BOMs.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols, including proper handling of chemicals, ventilation, and PPE usage.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in various conditions, including confined spaces, heights, and variable weather conditions.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills to meet project deadlines.
  • Must pass a pulmonary function test and face fit test prior to employment.

Qualifications

Experience
3 - 5 years: Relevant experience in the industrial painting field (required)
