The infrastructure engineering department at EFJohnson, has an immediate opening for a DevOps Engineer with extensive experience with Linux System Administration. The selected candidate will evaluate the engineering department’s internal infrastructure of servers, switches, repositories, and then propose/execute changes to bring them up to latest technologies. In addition to the infrastructure administration the candidate will be responsible to maintaining and setting up new development tools such as Jira, Jenkins, and other associated software packages.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
 
  • Install, upgrade, and manage engineering and production Linux (CnetOS 5 – 7) servers running on both physical and virtual machines. Upgrade and manage engineering services including Git, Clearcase, LDAP, …
  • Manage engineers IP network and configuration, must be able to configure Cisco equipment using VLANs and Multicast routing.
  • Create OS installation with necessary security protocols to achieve and maintain IA compliance.
  • Evaluate, demonstrate, and recommend new technologies, tools, and approaches as it applies to the system/product solutions.
  • Provide the highest tier of technical support to field service teams and customers.
  REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or other closely related field. Appropriate work experience is acceptable.
  • 3 – 7 years of experience in Linux system administration including installation, configuration, kick start, migration, and virtualization.
  • Experience with managing development environments, build servers, software repositories (Git, Clearcase), authentication (Active Directory, LDAP).
  • Experience in HA server design and deployment, utilizing various technologies including SAN, iSCSI, Load Balancers, ADC.
  • Experience in developing/supporting web based solutions, including client/server models, SQL, CSS, JavaScript, Perl, Python, and HTML.
  • Strong scripting skills Perl, Python, Bash, or others.
  • Knowledge/experience using PostgreSQL is a plus
  • Knowledge/experience of networking and configuration is a plus (CCNA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Network Management Systems is a plus.
  • Knowledge or I/A compliance and security protocols are a plus.
 COMPETENCIES: 
 
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a self-starter and require minimal supervision.

  • Travel as necessary (up to 10%)
